It's a $30 watch, so first--calibrate your expectations. BUT, considering that price point, you get sincere value. I bought this because I couldn't get home to my watch collection in time for an important meeting: I felt naked without a leather-band Don Draper-looking watch. People love to complain. Ticking is too loud? Are you in the Navy SEALs? You'll only hear it if you sleep with it next to your head, and that makes you weird. But I did sleep with it on for a few nights so the leather became one with my anatomy. Listen, when I got back to my Timex marlin and weekend, my Easy Reader did take a back seat. But the Easy Reader can handle a high tech business meeting, a black tie wedding, and a jog. I'll likely change out the bands for a bit higher--quality but that's not a complaint as much as a preference. Oh and I have huge wrists. They're seriously gigantic from weightlifting and focusing on building my forearms. I was surprised that the size still looks great--but it's old school, if you're a twenty something or younger and you want G Shock size (which doesnt fit under a shirt sleeve and should be worn when their function is necessary). This is a great watch, did I mention that. No matter how many stacks I rack I always buy Timex. Something about their branding feels timeless to me. I sincerely pass on a rolex for my Timex. No lie.
