Purchased this watch from Amazon for my five year old Grandson's birthday. He is very 'impressive' (takes after his Grandpa) and, at Five can read and write. He goes to a VPK school in Coral Gables, Florida, which is curriculum based. However, he does not know how to tell time, but is learning. This 'talking-watch' has just the right face and clearly presented numbers and minutes to help a Five year old, or older, to read and calculate the time. When he is not sure - he can depress the 'talking-time' function and be re-assured that he is close or correct . . . BTW - a second depression of the 'talking-watch' button gives him the date (day, month, and year). The watch is ideal for any small child learning how to read a watch and calculate the time. Would have rated this watch Five-Stars, but the velcro wrist band is clumsy and cumbersome. However, a more 'fitting' band is relatively inexpensive and available at most watch retailers. Am very pleased with this purchase, and, will probably buy another for my other Grandson for Christmas. My 5 year old son loves his watch, very easy to use. Unfortunately, within 1 day of getting this the strap fell apart and I had to replace it.This works exactly as expected. For my Autistic nephew who is obsessed with time right now it is especially helpful!I did receive the watch before chirstmas but it stopped working shortly after. Even after replacing battery item did not work.
