I purchased this NATO in #8 Shell Cordovan and a Black ZULU Shell Cordovan. I am initially pleased with the purchase, but a second look after attaching it to my old Seamasters, the #8 looked browner than the burgundy #8 in my mind.See photos. The Black ZULU Shell Cordovan was ok in color, my comparison for both were my Alden’s Chukkas in #8 Shell Cordovan, while the other two were my Alden’s Bal Oxfords in Black and Ashland Leather wallet also in Black, both also Shell Cordovan.See photos. Why only four stars? Not sure yet as to the durability of these straps in Shell Cordovan. In my opinion, it feels kinda thin on the wrist for my taste.I don’t feel confident on the the thinnest or thickness of these Shell Cordovans, I feel they may just snap.I don’t baby my Shells, may they be from Alden’s or Ashland, or any other maker. They do get dings and stuff on use everyday, and I do have a couple of deer bones in case I decide to remove those rolls, bends, dings, and scratches. But I guess, they do add some character to your Shells.I think it just gives some thoughts that they may have a life of their own in some way, and not like just something that is stored and displayed in cage in all it perfection. Will I buy again? Maybe or Maybe not...the jury is still out.If maybe the NATO and ZULU straps were cut from the thickest part of the Shell, I’d buy more, probably in all the available colors...I guess it is what it is, I hope they don’t break on me.Will give a feed back, after a couple of months if anything goes wrong.Stay safe everyone, warm regards to all...
