I've been using this strap for about 5 years. It's easy to trim to my wrist size; comfortable to wear; looks fine for the gym/outdoor activities for which I use it; and is cheap enough to replace when it starts to fall apart or is damaged from sweat, saltwater, whatever. That said it is sturdy -- I think I'm on my third, so they're lasting 18 mos to 2 years or so. The one thing that has needed attention is that when I've trimmed the Velcro hook side to the right length, the plastic and Velcro can separate if the end is not glued or stitched together. This year I spent a few minutes testing different glues lying around my house and picked the one that worked best (in this case it was a 2 part system for making cyanoacrylate stick to plastics -- stuff I picked up at a hardware store, nothing too exotic. I also cut away a bit of the paper layer in the middle to leave more room for the plastic surfaces to bond). It's holding up just fine.
